Mama Momentum was thought up around 8 years ago after I had my first baby! I was part way through my Mastres in Clinical Psychology, and after having my first baby and going back to finish my studies, I struggle with this Maternal Guilt thing. I had no idea what maternal guilt was, where it came from, what to do about it. I had no idea that other mothers felt this way either, and I had no idea what to do about it.
So, I created my whole research project around it. I found that not much research had been done in this space and the feminist in me was so pissed about that. How have we not looked into this huge topic that affects all western mothers? that imapcts on their wellbeing on a daily basis? That triggered the Fxck out of me. So I did the research, I wrote and published the paper and went on with my life, ignoring the calling I had to actually do something with the knowledge I have.
Fast forward to 8 years later, here we are as MAMA MOMENTUM. We are all in on educating and empowering mothers to take charge of their motherhood journey.
